New York Giants linebacker Blake Martinez exited Sunday's game against the visiting Atlanta Falcons with a knee injury.
He was injured on Atlanta's first drive when he missed an attempted tackle on Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson near midfield. He fell to the turf and was attended to by a trainer before heading to the sidelines.
After the Giants took a 3-0 lead on Graham Gano's 25-yard field goal with 7:01 remaining, the team announced that Martinez was out for the rest of the game.
Martinez, 27, entered Sunday with 21 tackles. He recorded 151 tackles in 2020 in his first season with the Giants, who signed him to a three-year, $30 million contract in March 2020 after he spent his first four seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
